RECOMMENDED COMICS OUT 10/16

-SHELTERED #4 (Image)

This has been a great series so far. I wouldn't be surprised if #1-3 are still available on the shelf at the store.
Here is a review of #1 just to give you an idea of what you're missing if you haven't been reading SHELTERED:

Review: Sheltered #1

SKYWARD #3 (Action Lab)

SKYWARD is the kind of comic book that there are too few of in today's market. It is "all ages" in the truest sense of the term. #3 is out this week, and I think #s 1 & 2 are still available at Nostalgia Newsstand.

Here's a swell review of the first issue:

...and a review of #2:
Review: SKYWARD #2

-IMAGINE AGENTS #1 (Boom! Studios)

Get in on the ground floor with this first issue.

-BRAIN BOY #2 (Dark Horse)

I loved the first issue, and it is probably still available at the store, too.

Here's a review of #1,

and here's a preview of #2:

Blogged down

I have a blog. Not sure how I feel about that.

Actually, the whole point of this is to have an easy way to *try* to bring attention to comics coming out on any given week that I think folks who shop at the wonderful Nostalgia Newsstand in Greenville, NC might enjoy. I write about it here, then link to it through Nostalgia's Facebook page. Simple enough.

One of the really cool things about Nostalgia Newsstand is its long history of carrying comics from the smaller publishers. I'd like to see that continue. The best way to insure this is to convince more people to try out more titles from publishers like Dark Horse, Image, IDW, Oni Press, Dynamite Entertainment, Boom! Studios, Archaia, Titan Comics, Action Lab, etc.

To quote a line from the timeless classic Raising Arizona, "Okay then."
